A recent insurance claim we handled involved a toilet plumbing connection that failed during the night. The homeowners woke up to find water covering the laminate floors. After the plumbing was disconnected and repaired, a water extraction company was called out to start the dryout process. The water found its way underneath the kitchen cabinets and soaked into the drywall behind. It is important dry all water moisture to prevent mold from growing. The water extraction company removed the toe kick & drilled holes in the base of the cabinets to assist in the drying process. When talking to the adjuster it is important to show the plumbing part that failed.
Do not let anyone throw away or walk off with the broken part, this broken part proves what caused the damages to your property.
